June News, Videos, Free Stuff and More
Summer is here and the heat is on. While you’re chilling by the pool or off-roading we are hard at work bringing you the best news, videos, and freebies from the automotive world. Here’s what we found in June.
Jeep 75 Year Celebration Continues
Summer Jeep Jamborees are in full swing. Indiana, Oregon, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Idaho all held Jeep Jamborees in June. Rugged off-roading, mudding , and trail riding with scenic vistas were just part of the Jeep Adventure. Follow along at the official site and register to participate. Some Jamborees already have a wait list but there are still plenty more to come as Jeep celebrates 75 years of off-road utility and fun all in one vehicle.
Be sure to send us your Jeep pics to email@example.com and we’ll feature them in a future post. Here are some scenes from June’s Jamborees:
Summer Truck Sales Heat Up
Thinking about buying a new truck? You aren’t alone, especially if you are Jonesing for a Ford. Ford sold 70,000 F-Series trucks in June. GM truck sales continued to be lower. They sold about 4,000 less trucks than Ford but at a higher profit. GM also continued to spend below industry average for incentives. With GM’s eye solidly on maximizing profit from each transaction, you might want to join the stampede to Ford to get the best price. Then, make your truck stand out with custom fender flares, bull bars, and Fuel Off-Road Hostage wheels. Now that’s the way to roll!
How Not to Change a Tire
Tiny houses, tiny cars, seems little things are all the rage! But watch what happens when a tiny car meets a full sized power tool. We’re not sure what’s funnier, the slow pit crew or the “twist” ending.
What kind of jerk goes around slashing tires? This kind obviously. Karma delivers instant justice.
Tech Meets Transportation: The PUV
Why go to the car lot for your next ride when you can print your own utility vehicle. While the PUV (printed utility vehicle) won’t be replacing the Jeep anytime soon; it is an amazing look at the future and the impact of technology on transportation.
The Department of Energy’s Oakridge Laboratories in Tennessee has created a utility vehicle that can be created with a 3D printer using the same kind of plastic used to make Legos. But this isn’t a toy. It’s a rugged vehicle. It’s powered by an electric-hybrid propulsion system. Want more range? Fire up the compressed natural gas generator.
While it’s still a little more complicated than just pressing the “Print” key, it is fully functional, street legal and can even power a home.
Who says no to free? Not us! Here are a couple of freebies we found for you to enjoy. Be sure to share with your friends, they like free too.

Saving the Best for Last
It doesn’t matter if you are into funny cars or off-road trucks, this video has something for you. The folks at Snap-On Tools wondered what would happen if nitro funny car racer Cruz Pendregon and off-road champ Bryce Menzies swapped seats, racing each other’s rides. It might be the first time Cruz ever had to turn left on a race track! Be sure to watch til the end when Menzies’ trophy truck rolling on KMC XD Series wheels takes on Pendregon’s nitro fueled funny car on the drag strip.
